Growing Pains

by Sandie on September 29, 2008

Inn Cuisine has experienced a tremendous surge in visitors over the last few months and yesterday I was informed that this site’s server capacities with my current web host have been pushed to their limits.

While this increase in readership is a wonderful thing, it has also been causing a few hiccups in my site’s functionality, so if you notice any problems or issues with this site not fully loading (such as content missing, or links not functioning properly), there is a valid reason: server overload.

In order to deal with these growing pains, I am working closely with my web hosting company to get these issues addressed, as well as other web hosting services should it become clear Inn Cuisine demands a dedicated hosting solution.

While these issues and blips may not be resolved overnight, they will be resolved in the coming weeks. Trust me when I say there is more going on behind the scenes of a successful, growing blog than meets the eye, and solving problems the right way takes planning and time.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who visits and/or comments on my articles here at Inn Cuisine for your time and continued support. Your enthusiastic participation (be it through page views, comments left, email sent, or subscriptions to Inn Cuisine’s RSS feed) means a lot to me, and I thank each of you for your involvement.

I hope you will stand by Inn Cuisine as I iron out these growing pains, and continue to help me spread the word. If you like Inn Cuisine and the recipes or articles you find here, tell a friend, share a link, subscribe to this site’s feed, and/or leave a comment. I value every reader’s feedback as I’m always striving to improve this site and the content I provide.

Thanks again for your time, patience, and understanding. I appreciate you, and the unique role you play in helping me expand this blog.

Thank you for visiting Inn Cuisine! Be sure to check out the newly remodeled Recipe Index and subscribe to Inn Cuisine's free RSS feed (available via email) so you never miss a recipe. Need more ways to stay connected? Follow Inn Cuisine on Facebook & Twitter!

Hi Sandie! Sounds like you’re using shared hosting. I’ve noticed a few hiccups here and there but I was never sure if it’s my internet connection’s fault or not. You’re right, there’s so much more to take care of so take you’re time, we’ll still be here when you’re done :)

Looks like you’ll get lots more visitors. Fox just linked to you in an article today, and Kalyn twittered it. Congrats! And good luck with your server! It will all work out.

Hope you get through the hosting hiccup although I suppose this is one of those good problems to have. ;-)
