Peeks, Pies and a Little Bit of Innkeeping

by Sandie on October 27, 2009

The rumors are true! This Thursday, the Great Big Pie Bake-Off continues. October’s theme? Spooky Halloween Pies! Here’s a sneak peek at my entry:

While I won’t give away the name of this mystery pie quite yet, I will assure you this pie is supernaturally scrumptious and perfect for autumn. In fact, it may be the best I’ve ever made! Be sure to check back on 10/29 for the complete recipe and a handy, step-by-step photo tutorial. Until then, if you’re a blogger and you have a Spooky Halloween Pie you’d like to make & share for this month’s bake-off, there’s still time! Please visit the Great Big Pie Bake-Off for full details.

Also, I’m thrilled to announce I’ve signed on to do the food photography for a new bed & breakfast cookbook! Chock full of mouthwatering and approachable B&B recipes, this cookbook (due out early 2010) is designed for home cooks who are looking for scrumptious, unique recipes to feed & entertain weekend guests. The best part? As a special sneak peek, you’ll be previewing some of these recipes (and photographs!) on the pages of Inn Cuisine. Just a little something to whet your appetite!

Last but not least, as the holiday season fast approaches, I wanted to remind everyone that it’s time to organize your very own Drop In & Decorate® Event. Decorating & donating cookies is a great way to gather with friends, family and neighbors, enjoy the holiday spirit and do something nice for others while you’re at it. For more information, please visit Drop In & Decorate and/or read this post from the Inn Cuisine archives. It’s a great thing!

Thank you for visiting Inn Cuisine! Be sure to check out the newly remodeled Recipe Index and subscribe to Inn Cuisine's free RSS feed (also available via email) so you never miss a recipe. Need more ways to stay connected? Follow Inn Cuisine on Facebook & Twitter!

VeggieGirl – Fun excitement though (thankfully not the kind that stresses you out)! :)

Val – Pies and holidays do pair well together, don’t they? Like a glass of champagne on New Year’s Eve…

Patsy – Thank you! I am thrilled to be doing the food photography for the B&B cookbook, and honored that they thought enough of my work to ask me to be part of their project. As for the pies, I’m anxious to see what everyone comes up with!

Thanks so much for reminding everyone about Drop In & Decorate — events are kicking into gear all around the country, so it’s the perfect time to start planning with your friends or family to make some cookies for donation.
