Photo Love

by Sandie on May 19, 2008

Sometimes a photo captures your heart and your steals your imagination. One glance and you suddenly find yourself daydreaming about slow-paced, peaceful days—no work, no stress, no worries, no pressures; nothing to do but stop and smell the roses, or in this case, the flowers.

That’s how I feel about this photo sent to me by owner and innkeeper Chloe Tuttle of Big Mill Bed & Breakfast in Williamston, North Carolina.

Hearkening us to hear the call of kinder, gentler times, this photo reminds me that the most uncomplicated things can be the most lovely, and that truly, there is beauty in simplicity.

For weeks I have admired this photo and longed to share it with readers of Inn Cuisine, waiting, for perhaps, the time to be right—when I myself had been reminded to stop and smell the flowers.

With my little one slowly on the mend, the school year drawing to a close and the anticipation of summer vacations and visitors upon us, now seemed like the perfect time to share a bit of peace and tranquility, if only in a photo.

In the coming months, Inn Cuisine will be taking more time to stop and smell the flowers in our own homes and bed & breakfast inns. From brewing the freshest coffee and teas, to discovering recipes that allow both you and your guests time to linger in the kitchen and get to know one another better, to creating unique opportunities for summer entertaining on the patio, deck or porch, June and July will be all about the enjoyment and creation of perfect summer meals, light, easy and delicious, as well as stopping to appreciate perfect summer moments.

Whenever you need a break from your daily grind, I invite you to remember this photo and stop by Inn Cuisine. The door is always open and here, you are always a welcome guest.

I am all for slowing down and taking it easy. For summer, I just picture lazily lounging near the grill nursing a beer with no need to hurry off and do anything in particular…that day needs to hurry up and come already, lol. And I love the photo
